The new year is approaching, and that means a fresh start. Here are some simple tips to help you have the best year ever at work!
Focus on your Most Important Task (MIT)
Your MIT is the daily task that will provide you the most value. Not just in the short term, but in the long run. It shouldn’t be something menial like checking your email, but instead a task that will help you accomplish a longer-term goal.
Put your tasks in writing
Start the day by putting your tasks and goals in writing. This will give you a clear picture of how you can map out your day in order to be the most productive. Don’t forget to carve out breaks for yourself!
Take a step back
We have been groomed to believe that the longer we work without taking breaks, the more dedicated we are. This isn’t the case. Self-care is essential to success – so make sure to step away for a quick bite or quiet moment. It will reset your mind and get you prepared for the next task.
Spruce up your work space
They say your bedroom is your sanctuary, but your work space should be as well! Make sure the area is clean and uncluttered, so your mind can be as well. Surround yourself with things that make you feel good, pack your desk with healthy snacks, your favorite hand cream, or fresh flowers. It’s the little things that can make the biggest impact.
