The History
Our plant-based stem cells are from a rare Swiss apple called Uttwiler Spätlauber. This Swiss apple (also known as Malus Domestica) is derived from a seedling planted in the middle of the 18th century. It is very famous for its excellent storability without shriveling. Uttwiler Spätlauber apples have especially long-living tissue stem cells, while their specific composition leads to incredible storability and longevity properties.
Science and Research
PhytoCellTec™ Malus Domestica was the first ingredient based on plant stem cells on the cosmetic market. They developed a novel plant cell culture technology (PhytoCellTec™) that enables the large-scale cultivation of callus (stem) cells from rare and protected plant species, such as Malus Domestica; which deliver scientifically sound results when tested between 2-5% of the active on the skin.
Results from a clinical study published in the SOFW Journal:
PhytoCellTech™ Malus Domestica, a cosmetic ingredient based on encapsulated extract of cultured apple stem cells, was tested in a clinical trial over 4 weeks with 20 subjects.
This new ingredient was found to significantly reduce wrinkles in the crow’s feet area.
